This indicator shows whether there has been investment in conservation efforts by the MacArthur Foundation, the Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund (CEPF) and/or the Margaret A. Cargill Foundation in a particular Key Biodiversity Area (KBA; sites of global significance for biodiversity conservation) between 2000 and 2012.
By 2020, at the latest, the mobilization of financial resources for effectively implementing the Strategic Plan for Biodiversity 2011-2020 from all sources, and in accordance with the consolidated and agreed process in the Strategy for Resource Mobilization, should increase substantially from the current levels. This target will be subject to changes contingent to resource needs assessments to be developed and reported by Parties.
This indicator shows whether there has been investment in conservation efforts (yes or no) in individual KBAs during the specified time period. The change of value indicates appearance or disappearance of the conservation investment from donors.
This indicator is available at the site scale for Cambodia.
This indicator is available for the period 2000-2012 as a baseline.
We used datasets of conservation investment by project from the MacArthur Foundation, the Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund (CEPF) and the Margaret A. Cargill Foundation between 2000 and 2012 in Cambodia. We mapped each project to one or more KBAs with help from program officers, and scored each KBA as to whether at least one investment from these three foundations took place.
The investment data were provided by program officers representing each of the donor organizations. This information may available on the donor websites.
